PDDBM Afterschool Program Advisory Committee
The PDDBM Afterschool Program Advisory Committee is a dedicated group of individuals committed to enhancing and supporting the PDDBM afterschool programs in fashion design, filmmaking, and journalism. This advisory committee will focus on ensuring that the programs remain student-centered, effective, and impactful by providing guidance, feedback, and strategic support.

Purpose:
To provide advisory support for the afterschool programs, ensuring they align with the mission of PDDBM.
To offer insights and recommendations on program development, curriculum, and student engagement.
To assist in community outreach and help secure resources and partnerships to enhance the students' learning experiences.
To serve as liaisons between students, parents, educators, and community stakeholders to ensure the program meets the needs of its participants.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Program Development & Support
Provide constructive feedback on program structure, activities, and outcomes.
Offer recommendations for curriculum improvements based on industry trends and student needs.
Assist in maintaining an inclusive and culturally responsive learning environment.
Student & Parent Engagement
Help create a supportive space where students feel heard and empowered.
Serve as mentors or role models for students within the program.
Act as a communication bridge between students, parents, and PDDBM leadership.
Community & Industry Partnerships
Help establish partnerships with businesses, professionals, and organizations that align with the program’s goals.
Advocate for donations, sponsorships, and in-kind support to provide necessary resources.
Connect students with internships, guest speakers, and networking opportunities.
Event & Showcase Support
Assist with planning, promoting, and executing fashion shows, film screenings, and magazine launches.
Help coordinate volunteers, judges, and community engagement activities for events.
Provide logistical support to ensure successful program showcases.
Fundraising & Resource Allocation
Identify potential funding sources, grants, and sponsorship opportunities to support the afterschool programs.
Help organize fundraising events and initiatives to sustain and expand program offerings.
Ensure that resources are equitably distributed to benefit all students.
Advocacy & Representation
Advocate for the importance of arts, media, and creative expression in afterschool education.
Represent PDDBM’s afterschool programs in local meetings, educational panels, and community discussions.
Promote awareness about student successes and program impact to encourage broader support.
Membership Expectations:
Attend quarterly advisory meetings to discuss program updates and opportunities.
Actively contribute expertise, insights, and ideas to strengthen the program.
Participate in at least one program event or initiative per year.
Maintain a commitment to PDDBM’s mission of empowering youth through education and creative expression.
