PDDBM: A Beacon of Integrity and Action

At Please Don’t Die Black Men (PDDBM), we stand tall on a foundation of integrity, ethical standards, and unwavering character. As a nonprofit organization rooted in social justice, our mission is to empower, uplift, and inspire African American and Black communities, as well as the broader middle and high school population in Clark County, WA. Everything we do is driven by accountability—accountability for our actions, our behaviors, our attitudes, and even our biases.

A Commitment to Ethical Standards and Justice

Our Professional Conduct Policy reflects our deep commitment to ethical practices and transparency. It is not just a document; it is a testament to how we operate. We believe in holding ourselves to the highest standards while also holding others accountable for their actions. Collaboration, open communication, and mutual respect are non-negotiable pillars in every partnership we forge. When we encounter unethical practices or organizations that do not uphold these principles, we do not remain silent. As Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “There comes a time when silence is betrayal.” For us, that time is now.

A Call to Action

PDDBM is not here to play favorites or avoid difficult conversations. We are here to make a difference, to create change, and to empower. Every day, we strive to amplify voices, dismantle systemic barriers, and inspire others to take action. Whether through events that feed and uplift communities, programs that equip youth with critical skills, or partnerships with like-minded organizations, we are relentless in our pursuit of equity and justice.

We call on supporters, sponsors, vendors, nonprofits, schools, colleges, businesses, and local officials to join us in this fight. In a world where not everyone operates with integrity, it is more important than ever to align with those who do.

Empowering Youth and Communities

Our work goes beyond words; it is action-oriented and community-focused. Through our events and programs, we provide opportunities for empowerment, financial growth, and skill-building. We feed attendees at our events, allow others to earn money through our ambassador program, and create spaces where youth can access resources they may not otherwise have due to systemic bias or inequality.

PDDBM’s commitment to youth empowerment includes providing free STEAM scholarships and educational workshops, addressing microaggressions, and promoting diversity and inclusion. We take pride in creating opportunities that challenge inequities and foster growth.

No Apologies for Doing What’s Right

We are aware that not everyone supports our stance on accountability or our commitment to justice. Some may criticize us for holding businesses or individuals accountable. To them, we say this: We will not apologize for our morals and standards.

PDDBM exists to do the work that needs to be done. We invite those who share our values to stand with us. Together, we can amplify our voices, raise awareness, and ensure that justice is not just a goal but a reality.
